How To Stay Inspired As An Artist

Inspiration comes and goes in the blink of an eye. It seems we have no control over the moments that inspire us. You've probably produced your best work using inspiration. Let's focus on cultivating this inspiration to work more frequently instead of wishing it come.

We breakdown how you can control inspiration to keep making your best music.

Defining It

The process of being mentally stimulated to do or feel something, especially to do something creative.

With this definition, inspiring yourself is easier than you think. It is energy that causes you to start creating.

Now we can navigate how to take action.

Becoming Inspired

Save what inspires you. Music, posters, images, memories, videos, etc. To spark yourself into inspiration, simply look at any of these. You are basically taking a shot of inspiration when you do or look at what you know inspires you.

List Of Inspirational Activities

1. Create an environment of inspiration

2. View inspirational things especially when you don't want to 3. Get into nature 4. Meditate

5. Shake it up and do something new 6. Call that friend who is your biggest motivator

Staying inspired has a couple elements to it. Technology, people, and your living environment will determine the level of inspiration you experience.

After becoming inspired, now we are ready to create...

Creating

There are two types of creating.

  1. Creating when you feel inspired

  2. Creating when you don't feel inspired

They both get the job done. You can argue that one leads to "better" sessions than the other. But once you start creating you go into flow with what you are doing. The actual action (inspired or not) creates added stimulus to your mind to be creative.

Conclusion

Inspiration will come and go in your life many times. Use it to propel yourself to new heights. These tips have worked for us and many others in life. Use them and you'll be amazed with the results!
