1. Go For It
The best time for you to go for your music career is right now. In most cases you do not have a spouse, kids, mortgage, and any obligations to anyone else. Of course you will have to figure out income to afford living expenses, but the main thing to focus on is you have complete freedom to go for it. The only person you are responsible for at this age is yourself. Go for it!
2. Always Be Learning
The acceptance that you do not know all there is to know about your career, music, and the industry can serve you a lifetime. Learn as much as you can from credible people who have already achieved the level of success that you want to have in your life.
3. Practice Consistency
The message is to take small steps consistently rather than to bite off more than you can chew so to speak. If you do 1 hour a day or even 30 minutes of practice, you will be much further ahead of the people who do a lot one day and disappear for the rest of the week.
4. Surround Yourself With Great People
The people in your life will influence the direction you move towards. Hang around with musicians who are trying to get better, taking their music seriously, and putting out music all the time. They will up your game by association towards success.
You are the average of the five people you associate with most, so do not underestimate the effects of your pessimistic, unambitious, or disorganized friends. If someone isn't making you stronger, they're making you weaker.
