This is a common problem music creators have. Finding the right group of people is a constant practice. Good news, there are multiple ways to find great people to propel your career.

1. Meetups & Events

Start searching on google about local meetups and events near you. There are convenient options along with the bigger music industry events held in major cities like Los Angeles, Austin, and New York.

The cost of meetups varies, but you can meet great people at a lot of these events for $15 per ticket or less.

A tip to meetups and events is to focus on the person you talk to. You'd be surprised how many people believe the best practice is to talk to as many people as possible. The key is to have meaningful conversations with the people you speak with and follow up with their contact information later.

2. Referrals

Have someone you already know and trust give you a recommendation. You already know and trust this person so they have done the vetting for you!

3. Give Value First

This may be the most important way to start an intro with someone. In order to elevate your network and collaborations, give something of value to the other person first with no strings attached.

The person receives something they want and will look to you for future collaborations.

This opens the door to a relationship with unlimited potential to how many more contacts come from it.


Don't settle for mediocre relationships
